  • Support farmers:

    • Our soy wax is sourced locally, reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.

    Eco-friendly:

    • Our product materials are plastic-free and recyclable

    • Wicks are made from 100% organic cotton.

    • Our wax is derived from soybeans, which are a renewable and sustainable resource.

    • Unlike paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum, soy wax is biodegradable and does not contribute to the depletion of fossil fuels.

    Non-toxic and hypoallergenic:

    • Soy wax is a natural, plant-based material and does not release harmful chemicals or irritants when burned.

    • It is an ideal choice for individuals with allergies or sensitiveness to synthetic fragrances.

  • The springs in Saratoga Springs, New York have fascinating histories tied to the area's development as a health and wellness destination in the 18th and 19th centuries. Each spring often acquired its name from notable people, locations, or characteristics.

Old Red is famous for its distinctive reddish-brown color, caused by high iron content in the water. It’s often called “blood water” by locals due to the reddish tint, which is caused by the high concentration of iron oxide (rust).

Like many of the Saratoga Springs, Old Red was believed to have therapeutic qualities, particularly for digestive issues and skin ailments, thanks to its high iron content. The iron-rich water was said to "purify" the blood.

Old Red became particularly popular in the 19th century, when the idea of "mineral waters" for health was all the rage. People would flock to Saratoga Springs not only for the social scene but also to take the waters as a cure-all.

  • Clean burning:

    • Soy wax burns cleaner than paraffin wax, emitting fewer toxins and pollutants into the air.

    • It produces little to no black soot, which can help maintain cleaner air quality in your home.

    Longer burning time:

    • Soy wax candles tend to burn slower and last longer than paraffin candles of the same size.

    • This means you can enjoy your candle longer before needing to replace it.

    Easy cleanup:

    • Spills and drips from soy wax candles can be cleaned up easily with soap and water.

    • Since soy wax is water-soluble, it is simpler to remove than paraffin wax.

    Better scent throw:

    • Soy wax has excellent scent-holding qualities, allowing it to hold and release fragrance oils effectively.

    • This results in a stronger and more consistent scent throw throughout the candle's lifespan.

  • Burn time: 45+ hours (8oz.)

Disclosure: Our candles are meticulously crafted by hand, and therefore, they may be subject to slight variations in appearance. Being natural, our soy wax can display slight differences as well.

    How to use:

    • To prevent tunneling, burn until the entire surface has turned to liquid wax before extinguishing.

    • Before lighting your candle, always trim the wick to about 5mm and remove any debris.

    • Burn on a flat surface and periodically turn the candle to ensure an even burn pool.

    • Always burn within sight.

    • Extinguish the candle if it repeatedly smokes or the flame becomes too high, let it cool, re-align and trim the wick.

    • Avoid burning your candle all the way to the bottom of the vessel. Leave approximately 1cm of wax and extinguish.

    • Burn in a wind/fan free area. The flame should be still and pointed upwards to ensure even heat distribution and melting.

    • Store in a climate controlled environment.

    • Never pour candle wax down your drain. Keep this in mind if you clean out your vessel for re-purposing or recycling.

    • Don’t leave unattended.

    • Keep away from flammable objects.

    • Keep away from children and pets.

    • Don’t burn for more that 4 hours at a time.
